Enjoy a glass of wine on arrival at our preview screenings of La Bola Negra, a sweeping historical drama that follows the lives of three Spanish men intertwined across generations through sexuality, desire, pain and legacy.
Winner of the Best Director award at Cannes, La Bola Negra is an ambitious homage to Federico García Lorca's unfinished play of the same name, set across three timelines — Republican Spain in 1932, the Civil War in 1937, and contemporary Spain in 2017.
Filled with extraordinary performances and an ensemble cast featuring Penelope Cruz, Glenn Close and Julio Torres in supporting roles, this delicate and emotionally resonant drama presents a dialogue between past and present about the traces of queer life set against a backdrop of national and personal turmoil.
